Nintendo’s Press conference E3 2010

Nintendo just brought their A game and a press conference that was better in the first ten minutes than Microsoft’s was all together. I have never been this excited about nintendo. With the huge line of video games set to release this fall on the wii and the even bigger selection scheduled to be released on the 3DS, there is nothing Nintendo can’t do. “The battle with Sony has been won and that Apple should be treated as the enemy of the future.” -Satoru Iwata

For years I have been skeptical about buying a Wii and a DSi, but after today I am thinking about buying both the Wii and the newly announced Nintendo 3DS. The sony press conference had better be good after what we saw today.

Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2010

New xbox 360, Kinect (Natal), slashing fruit in MGS, cloned wii sports, etc. Kinect will be a great addition to games, but not as a total replacement to my controller. We still need that haptic feedback otherwise it just feels odd. Racing game + controller + kinect to look around = great game. Racing game + kinect = no thank you. They said they have no plans to allow you to use any item with kinect; your body is the only thing it will recognize. Sick announcements but I am still sad that they didn’t release a hulu streaming app, but I guess that’s just hulu wanting to close themselves to a web browser only format.. which is a horrible experience. Not everyone can dedicate a computer to hulu only streaming. Sony’s press conference is in a few and I hope they tailor to the hardcore gamers and not to this microsoft, wii approach.
